つまり 「小さな蒸籠に入れられた包子」という意味になります。
もともと「包子」は肉や野菜を生地で包んで蒸す
料理全般を指しますが、小籠包は ひと口サイズの小型で、
蒸籠に並べて蒸す ため、この名前になりました。
発祥は19世紀の清代・上海近郊とされていて、
当時から「小さい蒸籠で蒸す包子」という意味合いで呼ばれ、
現在の「小籠包」の呼び名に定着しています。
